Carbon dioxide is an acid oxide composed of a carbon atom bonded to two oxygen atoms. It is a fundamental substance in the life processes of plants and animals.
It provides “fizzy bubbles” in beverage carbonation and is used for water purification, pH control and protective atmosphere packaging, and dry ice production.
