Helium and Balloon Gas

Helium is a noble gas colorless, odorless, tasteless, nontoxic and inert.
In liquid form it is used in cryogenics, other industrial uses of helium are pressurization and purging of gases, creation of a protective atmosphere for arc welding, a minor use is as a lifting gas for probe balloons and balloons for children or as a gas in deep-diving mixtures.
